Seems like gamification is the savior of all engagement-challenged products. Use it right: big win. but abuse it, and down the drain goes your product.  And abusion lurks around the corner or each gamified product.

Gamification is a dime a dozen. Everywhere I look I see badges, score and leader boards.
Good gamification, however, is hard to find. Gamification done right is built from the product core, not added as a layer.
It seems legit to throw points around and give users over-positive feedback for their actions but this tactic tends to backlash, as users eventually see through those behavioral mind hacks and flock away from the product.

Still want to gamify and don’t know where to start?
I’ve gathered 5 rules of thumbs to get you going.

Hungry for more knowledge?  I highly recommend the gamification course by Kevin Werbach in coursera, that pretty much covers the subject as a whole.
